If I could give away anything I possessed, I would give my friend the ability to breathe so that he could learn to swim in the reservoir of his own self-blame. We both grew up under academically rigorous circumstances and although I found an outlet via art to release the stress that had been accumulating over the years, he was visibly collapsing from the inside-out. All the counselors that he had been seeing tell him that his imposter syndrome was merely another state of mind and that he should simply do "what makes him happy" with his own life. However, that does not change the fact that it is really difficult to be the pinnacle of your family's disappointment.
So all in all, I hope that with this small breath of air, he can acquire some slightest peace of mind.
